The dictatorship of the present

Without solving old problems, we don't even notice new ones.
There is tremendous pressure to focus on the immediate moment.
There is neither time nor opportunity to stop and think about tomorrow.
This means that our ability to anticipate, our capacity for strategic thinking, ends up not being developed.
It follows that old problems are not solved, especially those that depend on long-term action.
Without solving old problems, we don't even notice new ones.
There is, therefore, a blindness of anticipation.
